Our team of architects, engineers, and draftsmen are put through extensive training so that they are able to design within code and tough budgets. All of our people are trained on state and local government requirements with regard to zoning, parking, types of use, fire separations, property line set backs, and bulk square footage limitations.
Before we begin designing, our team performs a thorough code check through an on-line library to immediately sift through pertinent materials and focus on what really matters in order to assure designs are 100% in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
Jim Schultz
As our senior draftsman and plan checker, Jim specializes in the nitty-gritty details. He is versed in sizing Mechanical equipment, performing thermal envelope loss and load balancing as well as structural and enclosure detailing. He prefers to work on the technical aspects of construction assemblies. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring classic cars.
Bruce Randall
With dual architecture and Structural degrees, Bruce is known for his practical solutions. His 30 yrs of experience have given him a sound understanding of codes and budget restraints. He is known by his piers for producing innovative designs and is well versed in 3D modeling and coordination. He is a certified RAM-CAD studio expert and specializes in structural modeling and analysis. He is Licensed as a structural engineer in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Cheryl Zielke
Cheryl is our bookeeper and office manager. She has more than twenty years experience and is recognized for her strong, personal inter-relation skills and for her expertise in Quickbooks. Prior to joining A Architects, she had worked for various developers constructing Pro-formas and cash projections and has a background in estimating and bid solicitation.
Bart Wisniewski
LEED Accredited Professional and a licensed Architect (both in the US and in Europe; ACE Certified), Bart has worked on a variety of larger mixed-use, urban projects and is a leads the firm's sustainable practice and heads the firm's Polish office. Bart has a Masters Degree, (MS Arch I) from Poznan University, PL and a degre in town planning from Avans Hogeschool Brabant, Netherlands.
Arkadiusz Jarog
Another BIM Modeler, with a bachelors degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Arek's strength is in detailing mid-rise, sustainable projects and is currently building a home following the LEED New home guidelines.
Ravi Chaudhari
With tewnty years of experience in engineering and architecture, Ravi's strength as a technical problem solver is well known. Through his extensive knowledge of codes and engineering practices he has the unique ability of seeing a problem from many different perspectives. Mr. Chaudhari has both a Masters and Bachelor Degree in Architecture. CEPT University and Napur University.
Anthony Miskinis, P.E.
With a strong background in engineering, over 30 years, Anthony has recently mastered revit MEP and is our in-house coordinator of mechanical, structural and electrical systems. He has an engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Mika Kurzawa
Interior Designer Diva for the firm (Our secret weapon). Dominika has a Bachelor in Arts from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and is currently working on her Masters in Fine Arts from Northwestern University. Her hobbies include painting sculpture and her newest adventure: Designing playground structures for children.
Nick Spoor
Our newest Associate, Nick is a licensed Architect (NCARB certified) with seven years of experience since graduating from the University of Illinois with a Masters Degree in Architecture (2003). He recently helped to complete the design of Riverwalk Center, a 4 story mixed use landmark project in McHenry. His specialty is the design of senior and low income housing. A Crystal Lake native, Nick enjoys spending his spare time helping out on Habitat for Humanity Projects.
