After meeting and discussing the variables of the program, AA will immediately craft study options to demonstrate our understanding of the problem.

We verify zoning requirements early on to assist in the preparation of schematic drawings that are realistic and indicate how to maximize the land for best use. We will show different and creative ways of massing and arranging the program spaces that respond to functional needs.

After a scheme is selected, the team further develops the plan in terms of size and establishes an initial budget. As a ‘contractor’s architect’, AA moves quickly to detail construction documents that are rich with content and clearly understood by the bidding teams.

An example of this is how we use computer modeling and 3D layouts to coordinate systems within our data center projects to ensure that the equipment will not only fit in the space but can be easily accessed for serviceability.
